Witchy Wardrobe

Life is filled with dichotomies. In between deadlines at work, social engineering, fashion politics you are to rest up and be healthy.

I must admit, even at Fashionista in Danger where we work hard on not ignoring the bad that comes with the good it gets difficult. In the face of life just being life I guess… I found myself gravitating towards more delicate things… to soften a blow of life.

I watch Hallmark’s Good Witch ( only the first 5 seasons! And all the movies), wear purple and royal blue and use honey based hand-cream. That sort of hide and seek nature with life has got me thinking a lot about witchy wardrobe and what does it mean.

The Cosy Way of Life

Picture the tender morning light casting soft shadows as you step into a dress the color of dawn. The soft fabric is a whisper of clouds against your skin, its gentle hue a reminder of hope and new beginnings.

Colors are Spells

Take velvet as an example. Velvet represent mystery - a connection to historical or traditional magical practices. It’s tactile and oddly calming. It’s something to do with its demand to be present when you are touching it. It just brings you back to the moment.

Then pockets, hoods and capes - all very witchy…Isn’t it wild to think that functional fashion for such a long time was a reason for burning? Wow, that got too dark for my little cosy session. So let’s take it back a notch...
